Frequently Asked Questions

Are 3D, 4D & 5D Number Plates Legal?

Yes. Just as our 2D Printed range, all lettering styles offered at Next Reg Plates are 100% Road Legal, given that they comply with the BS AU 145e 2021 British Standard.

Given that the registration requested to be made is legally spaced as it should be, our team ensure that the plates are made to meet the UK legal requirements and are marked with a British Standard number.

Can I collect my order and have it fitted for me?

Yes. Clients can freely visit us for the collection of their number plates and orders.

Our team at Next Reg Plates, also offer a fully managed fitment service for just £10 using our premium sticky pads, saving you the time and efforts of fitting the plates yourself.

Simply use the Contact Us form below to arrange a collection or fitting for your number plates.

Do sticky pads come with my number plate plate order?

Yes. All number plate orders arrive with our standard sticky pads, free from any additional charge, ready for you to fit onto your vehicle.

These standard sticky pads can also be purchased separately from us, as well as our premium sticky pads which can only be purchased separately.

What makes our premium sticky pads different?

When compared to our standard sticky pads, our premium range is notably thicker and offers enhanced adhesion, allowing for a more secure and lasting stick to surfaces that standard sticky pads may not match. We particularly advise using these for the slightly heavier 4D & 5D plate ranges.

Can I order Show Plates?

Yes.

Any number plates which are not UK legally compliant registrations, are considered as show plates and therefore, are not for road use. For example, if you required custom (illegal) spacing of a registration, you'd be purchasing a show plate as opposed to a legal UK number plate.

On the other hand, all legally compliant registrations are spaced legally and have the required legal markings as well as our company name in small text at the bottom of each plate, assuring they can be used 100% legally on the road. We do not provide any legal markings, nor our company name on any show plates, but you are welcome add a small custom text at the bottom if you wished to.

Creativity with our show plates:

Here is a short list of interesting and creative show plate ideas for inspiration - Majority of which have been previous orders made by our customers;

  • 'PUSH' & 'PULL' were used to display on doors for a business/workplace
  • 'HOT AREA' was placed in the kitchen of a restaurant
  • 'SM' were show plates used on a wedding car of a newly wedded couple, representing each of their first-name initials.
  • 'ALLOYS' used by an automotive company to label their alloy display pieces

These, and many more, brilliant ideas are a great way for individuals and businesses to express themselves, label products and much more. Our quality-assured show plates offer an opportunity to be unique and innovative.

Aside from aesthetics, when must I replace my number plates?

If your number plate is damaged in any way that affects or changes the appearance of the visibility of the characters, it can result in a failed MOT test. It’s strongly advised that your number plates should be replaced as soon as possible if damaged or cracked.
